About the Learning Skills Centre

The LSC provides all Georgian students with writing, math and study skills, learning strategies and peer tutoring. The staff's priority is to empower students to take responsibility for their own learning while assisting students as they develop high-level learning competencies.

To achieve this goal the LSC is staffed by a team of Learning Strategy and Peer Tutoring experts and senior students trained as Learning Skills Assistants (LSA). The LSAs work in the Knowledge Hubs (Barrie) in the Library Commons, the Write On! Centre and the Math Help Centre.

One-on-one tutoring is available to students in specific courses. Tutors are matched with students on an individual basis by the Peer Services Advisor. Students who would like to receive tutoring may visit one of our Learning Centres or meet with the Peer Services Advisor to discuss individual tutoring needs.
