Library Cards
Full-Time Students
Your Georgian College student card is your library card (library account must be activated in the library). Your Library Card Number is located below the barcode. This number is usually your student number plus 1 digit.
Part-Time Students
Obtain a library card from the Customer Service Desk. Verification of Georgian College enrollment and identification is required. This card is valid for the duration of your part-time studies and has your Library Card Number for My Account and off campus access to Georgian's databases.
Distance Education Students
Request your library card by phone, email, or through the request a library card form. Please provide your student number, campus, course name, and date the course is expected to finish along with your address and contact information.
Alumni
Present a "Georgian College Alumni card" and a library barcode will be attached to enable library privileges.
Faculty and Staff
Library accounts will be created the first time you borrow materials. Staff and faculty library accounts are kept on file in the Library; a physical library card is available if requested .
Barrie Public Library Members
Present a valid Barrie Public Library card and identification; a barcode will be attached to the card to enable limited Georgian College library privileges.
The Barrie Public Library has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with Georgian College. Upon presentation of a Georgian College Library Card and identification with name and address, a Barrie Public Library card will be issued free of charge.
Library PIN
Your Library PIN is given when your Library account is activated. It is often set as the last four numbers of your Library card number. If you do not know your PIN, see Library Customer Service staff, phone 1-877-890-8477, or email library@georgianc.on.ca.
The Library card number and PIN allows:
- off campus access to Georgian's Subscription Databases.
- access to your library account using the My Account feature
