The Library Commons combines:

Quiet Study Space
Absolute quiet study areas are available in the Library Commons.
- Barrie campus: there are 3 designated quiet study spaces; two upstairs one with study carrels, 4 IBM computers & 1 CAD Computer, and one with just study carrels. On the main floor there is one room with computers and a printer.
- Orillia campus: one bookable room available for student/faculty use. Interprofessional Resource, MacIntosh editing and Write On Centre rooms available for use, though still publically accessible. To book this room, call (705) 325 2740, ext 3050 or visit the customer service desk.
- Owen Sound campus: designated quiet space with study carrels are located at the back of the Library and one room is available for quiet or group study purposes. Visit the customer service staff to book it.
- Midland campus: one room is available for student/faculty use. To book this room, call (705) 526‑3666, ext 340.
Group Discussion Rooms
- Barrie campus: 6 rooms are available for student/faculty use. To book these rooms, call (705) 722‑5139 or visit the customer service desk.
- Orillia campus: 3 rooms are available for student/faculty use. To book these rooms, call (705) 325‑2740, ext 3050 or visit the customer service desk
- Owen Sound campus: 1 room is available for group or quiet study. Visit the customer service staff to book it.
Computer Workstations
Both IBM and MAC computer workstations are available for student access to the Internet, Library electronic resources, email, and other College software. Research results and work documents can be saved to your personal network space (G:\ drive), a computer disc, removable device, or printed. Some sources allow you to email the database results to yourself.
It is not permissible to use Georgian College computers to view any material that may be in any way offensive to other library users or staff. All users agree to comply with Georgian College's Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy.
